Serves: 4
Ingredients
  • 3 Tbsp Coconut Oil
  • 2 Tbsp Shea Butter
  • 3 Tbsp Baking Soda
  • 2 Tbsp Arrowroot Powder or cornstarch
  • essential oils (for fragrance, optional)
Instructions
  1. Melt oil and shea butter either in a saucepan or in the microwave.
  2. Mix in baking soda and arrowroot.
  3. Add essential oils if desired. I love a little ylang ylang with vanilla and my husband's fragrance of choice is a mix of cedarwood, oregano and vanilla.
  4. Place mixture in a 4oz lidded jar and store at room temperature or cooler.
Notes
You can place this into a deodorant container but it does have a softer consistency than that of store bought deodorants so I find it easier to place in a jar. To use, rub a small amount on your underarms and let air dry before getting dressed. Also note, this mixture may melt at temperature above 76 degrees. This is another reason I like to place it in a lidded jar. It is equally effective and usable at liquid state.
