Salads

  • Hi Kari, do you eat a low sodium diet? That is what my dr is recommending for me. I am struggling to eat – I eat the same thing every day – frozen veggies and try to find a bit of protein. Thank you

    • Hi Sybil! My dr. originally had recommended a low sodium diet for me as well (under 1500mg) but for me, that put me in the ER with recurring heart arrhythmia as it threw my blood salt levels way off. So now, I don’t count my sodium and just salt my food to taste using pink himalayan salt which is less sodium than regular table salt since it’s a blend of multiple minerals rather than just sodium and I rarely if ever eat processed foods so that naturally keeps things lower. If I had to guess, I probably end up around 2500mg or sodium per day give or take. I feel a whole lot better eating real wholesome foods cooked from scratch with a limited amount of wheat and dairy, higher amounts of healthy fats, focused on lots of vegetables and high quality protein. I hope you can find the right mix of what works well for you!
